The TechBridgeWorld iSTEP (innovative Student Technology ExPerience) internship program provides Carnegie Mellon students and recent graduates with the opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary and globally distributed team to develop needs-based technology solutions in collaboration with developing communities. This iSTEP2010 final report provides a detailed account of the 2010 internship, the research projects, key findings, and the teams work and overall personal experiences.The 2010 iSTEP internship partnered with Asian University for Women (AUW) in Chittagong, Bangladesh to research two projects. The first project explored educational technology tools to enhance English literacy for pre-university students in the Access Academy program at AUW. The second project investigated needs of the visually impaired population in Bangladesh and corresponding customization of the TechBridgeWorld Braille Writing Tutor in collaboration with Young Power in Social Action (YPSA).
