The goal of the FoxNet project is to explore the advantages (and
drawbacks) of implementing networking software using an extended
version of the SML language. In this report, we document the performance
of the FoxNet. Using the performance results as a guide, we compare
small function overhead and memory access performance of the extended
SML to the dominate systems programming language C.
